Castaways Cottages and Campground is a locally-owned Indigenous business with properties right on the southern shore of Great Slave Lake. We are 10 minutes from the town of Hay River in the Northwest Territories and all year with 4 season private cottages, and seasonal tours.
The NWT is our home, and our lakefront property captures all the natural beauty that we find so spectacular about the North. In the privacy of our cottages, suites, and campsites, we’re confident you’ll have an unforgettable experience in close contact with the land. Whether you’re relaxing by the water, hiking our many trails or experiencing a winter wonderland under dancing Northern Lights, your time at Castaways Cottages is sure to leave you with the same appreciation for the North’s beauty as we have held for generations.
At Castaways Cottages, we place a strong emphasis on showcasing traditional Indigenous culture, which we reflect in our art and furnishings in each of our cottages. We are also a proud supporter of our local cultural events, both in Hay River and surrounding communities in the region. If you’re staying at our property, reach out and ask what events and opportunities are happening so you can take part in a more authentic experience in the NWT.
